Our Legacy
T & S Electric Motors has been serving South Georgia since 1964. Located in Tifton, we specialize in electric motor repair, rewinding, and sales, with a strong focus on supporting agricultural operations and local businesses.
For over six decades, our founder, Mr. Augustus (Gus) Upshaw, built a reputation on quality workmanship and a commitment to helping customers solve their equipment challenges. Whether it’s irrigation systems, processing equipment, or other critical machinery, we understand the importance of keeping motors running and minimizing downtime for the operations we serve.

What We Do
We provide a full range of electric motor services, including:
Motor rewinding and repair -- we regularly handle AC motors up to 350 HP
New and re-wound/refurbished motor sales
Custom-built single-to-three rotary phase converters
Our work covers a wide range of AC motors, with particular experience in agricultural applications such as pump motors, fans, and conveyors.
Our Team
Our rewinding and repair work is performed by experienced expert technicians. We maintain up to two rewinding teams, including a senior winding technician with over ten years of experience and a winding technician with three years of hands-on experience.
The foundation of our team culture comes from a long-standing emphasis on strong work ethics and customer-focused service. We take pride in the quality of our work and are committed to finding practical solutions that resolve our customers’ problems.
Our Facility
We operate from a combined 10,400 square foot facility in Tifton, including a 5,500 sq ft shop and office space along with a 4,900 sq ft warehouse. This allows us to maintain strong in-house capabilities and support quick turnaround times compared to many smaller operations.

A New Chapter
In April 2026, T & S Electric Motors entered a new chapter under new ownership while remaining committed to the same principles of quality and customer care that have defined the business for over 60 years.
